This free event is best suited to children aged 13 and under. Please note that the Poetry Foundation will only be open to children and their parents or guardians during this event. Admission granted on first come, first served basis.
The special weekend event will include screenings of episodes of the WTTW Kids programs Martha Speaks and Arthur featuring poets Billy Collins and Jack Prelutsky; a musical performance and puppet show featuring the work of current Children’s Poet Laureate J. Patrick Lewis by artists Jennifer Trowbridge and Lolly Extract; and a variety of interactive crafts and activities, including a scavenger hunt.

Grow your very own pea pod. The session lasts approximately 15-20 minutes. This weekend’s theme is Grow a Pea Pod in a Snap. Kids will eat their vegetables especially when they are active in the cultivating process. Did you know that when you eat peas, you are actually eating seeds? Learn this and more fun facts, including the life cycle of a pea plant. Plant this cool weather crop now and get ready for yummy summertime snacks in June!
