The Chicago Kids and Kites Festival Free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 19.

Soar like the wind, fly a kite at The Chicago Kids and Kites Festival Free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at Cricket Hill located at Lake Shore Drive and Montrose Avenue. Over 5,000 kite kits, flags and other information for the kids are being donated by NATO summit organizers. There will be a workshop on the history and tradition of Afghan fighter kites. There will be many activities such as the following: painting a kite shaped magnet, Face-Painters, Balloon artists, Brookfield Zoo will be on site with fun, games and related to the zoo’s new Xtreme Bugs Exhibit, and Jelly Belly& Whole foods will provide snacks. Additionally, kites will be available for purchase from Chicago Kite, a Chicago-based retailer that specializes in kites, provide tips and advice on how to fly kites. These professional flyers will demonstrate their skills with oversized and eye-catching kites.

This is the 8th Annual Rush University Medical Center Spring into Health &Fitness Fair. Free health services including screenings, school physicals, immunizations and health counseling will be administered to underserved Chicagoans. Rush students from a wide range of disciplines will work under the supervision of attending physicians, nurse practitioners, professional nursing staff, and faculty.
