Friday Fun!

Noir is the theme for Friday, October 5. This at -cost event includes admission to the museum, entertainment,  decadent  dessert samples from deca restaurant,  meet new friends, hit the dance floor with tunes provided by Alvin Black III . Doors open from 6 to 10 p.m. There is a cash bar that is open to 9:30 p.m.

HelloChicago: Free Musical Family Fun at Chicago Women’s Park & Gardens Today

Want to have a musical family night, tonight? Enjoy a Free concert featuring VanderCook College of Music Graduate Band at the Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens located behind the Clarke House Museum beginning at 5:30 p.m.

This concert is family centric.  The music will feature show tunes, movie themes, sounds of famous marches and concert band classics that can be enjoyed by all. Bring blankets, lawn chairs, and be ready for fun under the sun.

The schedule:

At 5:30 p.m., Toddlers, Tunes and Turtles, animal experts will bring an array of animals from birds to frogs and more, the kids will be able to play instruments and there will be other interactive activities tied to music.  At 6:30 p.m. enjoy a family drum circle demonstration that is interactive musical fun for the whole tribe can appreciate!

1. Santa is coming to Buffalo Wings &Rings in Bridgeport on December 10 (Saturday) at 1-4 p.m.

Bring your camera to take a picture with Santa. Enjoy good food, caroling by the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) ACappella choir, face painting, balloons and families can create cards at the craft table to be donated to Edward Hines VA Hospital. All proceeds from this event will help fund a special party for residents of Hines Toiletries are also being accepted for wounded veterans at Hines. Items that are being accepted are stretch gloves, stretch hats, deodorant, shampoo, shaving cream and razors.

6. Head out to The John Hancock Observatory’s Winter Wonderland. Check out the special activities.

Each kid will get in free with each paying adult admission. Plus they will receive a free ticket for admission to the Field Museum.

An alternative to a live Santa

Sometimes, having a picture taken with Santa can be frightening, but a LEGO Santa won’t be.

1. December 9 (Friday) – January 1 (Sunday) Holly Jolly Holidays at LEGOLAND Discovery Center. Take pictures with a life- size Santa and Snowman LEGO models. Activities include build your own Lego Holiday ornament, a group build of a 12 foot LEGO tree, scavenger hunt on the Dragon Ride, and build a LEGO Eskimo, Penguin or SantaPaws in the Model Builder Workshop (while supplies last)
